Fairfield State of Emergency Message

The First Selectman for the Town of Fairfield has declared a state of emergency for the Town of Fairfield. A category 1 hurricane is expect to make landfall Sunday Morning with tropical rain and wind conditions beginning Saturday afternoon. Residents in low lying areas including those prone to flooding, should consider relocating to higher ground as soon as possible. Residents should be prepared for prolonged power outages lasting a week or more. Emergency Services will be limited during at the height of the storm. All town facilities will be closed starting Saturday. An emergency shelter will open on Saturday at 12 noon at Roger Ludlow High School. Pets will be accepted at the shelter. Please limit 911 calls to emergencies during this event. This storm is expected to be a serious event. Residents are urged to make preparations now.
